Canvas Presentation

Thanks to all the great folks at CANHEIT 2012 the University of Saskatchewan for an excellent conference. I was lucky enough to sit on an LMS panel, and deliver a presentation on Canvas CV. While the presentation is very similar to the one delivered at OUCC2012, I updated a few slides, so here it is!

We also created a launch video for our Canvas implementation at OCAD U, so I’ve included the video below.

I recently presented at the Ontario Universities Computing Conference 2012. If you’re interested in great open-source projects and learning management systems, Instructure Canvas (CV edition) is a great place to start.

Here’s a description of my talk:

Learn about OCAD University’s innovative adoption of Canvas, the simple, open-source LMS from Instructure. Through user testing we learned that social features, excellent user-experience and usability all make Canvas the choice to beat in the open-source arena. In this presentation we’ll do a deep dive on the features, course pilots and design, and technical aspects of running your own Canvas install. Presented with Christopher Bennell, Faculty IT Support Technician.

Soft Copy: Games

by Andrew on December 6, 2011

Soft Copy released Games on November 5, 2011. Entirely written and recorded by Soft Copy, with an absolute minimum of studio trickery: just 100% honest to goodness live off the floor noise. It’s available on iTunes, but why not have a listen first.

Similarly, the original artwork is by London-based artist Emer O’Brien, in a tradition of us working with other artists and designers such as Paul Boddum and Dan McCafferty (no, not the lead singer of Nazareth, the Toronto based designer) and Shelley Heebner McCafferty.
